Mbarali Rice Farm

Mbarali Rice Farm, having a total area of 8,000 Acres, is located in the southern part of Tanzania, in Mbarali Town, Mbeya Region. Besides paddy farming, the farm engages in Rice Milling. The farm activities are semi mechanised from Planting to Harvesting; there is also adequate source of water supply to irrigate the farm. Due to these favourable resources, the farm has been excelling in its production. The quality of the rice product is good. The price of the product is very competitive and it is sold in different weight packages under its own Trade Mark – Estates Rice.

Our Successful story

The annual production of Rice for Mbarali Farm is estimated at 6,000 Tons and consequently its annual turnover is approximately to Tzs 12BN. Strategies for exploring new export markets have been put in place and funds for its canvas have been set aside to oversee its accomplishment.

The farm, prior to its divestiture, was solely owned by the Government of Tanzania. The Government through the Presidential Parastatal Sector Reform Commission (PSRC) privatized the Farm to Highland Estates Limited in 2006.
